PUBLIC WORKS STATUTES APPLICABLE TO CITIES
Be aware that there are numerous exceptions to the statutes that are listed here. If the city is a charter city, most of these statutes will be inapplicable. Also, if the city council is acting in the role of board of a special district, or if it is acting pursuant to an act such as the various Improvement Acts, different statutes will apply. The California Senate's online code service does not currently support hyperlinks directly to individual code sections. To view these sections in their entirety, click here, check the name of the code, and enter the section number. You can review the California Code of Regulations by clicking here.
