MORE ABOUT PUBLICONSTRUCTIONLAW
PubliConstructionLaw represents public agencies in construction and other property-related matters. Cheri D. Love, principal of the firm, has represented approximately 40 cities, school and community college districts and county offices of education, a special district and a educational foundation throughout Northern California in construction and other property-related matters. She has also represented countless other school and community college districts on general business issues. Ms. Love has litigated construction disputes throughout her career, and dispute resolution (“crisis management”) in all stages of projects is a primary portion of her practice. Knowledge of the construction industry allows Ms. Love to approach contractors and their attorneys with creative solutions, intended to address both parties' needs. PubliConstructionLaw also advises and assists public owners in purchasing real property, selecting and negotiating with design professionals, prequalification of potential bidders, preparation of bid packages, evaluation of bids and required submissions, bid protests and analysis of schedule disputes and change orders. Ms. Love is a LEED-accredited professional and is expanding her practice to include nonpublic owners who are interested in implementing "green" principles as they develop, build and retrofit projects. The firm publishes the PubliConstructionLaw’s Guide to the Informal Bidding Act for cities, counties and school and community college districts. Ms. Love received her law degree from the University of California Hastings College of the Law, after obtaining a bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Riverside.
